FCC Establishes new Consumer Help Data Center

Last week, the FCC expanded upon their previous release of unaudited complaint data, which the FCC started making available late last year.  Now, site users can not only access the complaint data, but can also access brand new complaint mapping, location and charting features, or access the FCC's data through an API to create their own charts and the like.

For example, a user can now click "charts and graphs" and then create a chart showing only telemarketing-related complaints, or TV-related complaints, etc.   Not all complaint data is available, but the FCC has made available the following about each complaint received: The date and time of complaint, the date and time of the call, the form (medium) of the message, the method, the issue complained about, the caller-ID number reported by the consumer, the type of call/message, the advertiser business number (given during the call), as well as the city, state and zip code of the complaining consumer.

The new data center can be accessed here.  Marketers should visit this site frequently to perform searches on their own caller-ID numbers and see what consumers are saying about calls from those numbers.
