Post - Hurricane Florence Telemarketing advisory

There is no legal prohibition of telemarketing to states in declared states of emergency due to Hurricane Florence. However, we strongly recommend using caution when soliciting to consumers in the Carolinas and Virginia.

Residents are dealing with the aftermath of Florence and busy preparing for flooding early next week when rising rivers are expected to crest, according to the National Weather Service.

According to reports there are:

  • Twenty flood gauges that showed some level of flooding in the Carolinas and Virginia.

  • Nearly 5,000 people in North Carolina that have been rescued by boat or helicopter since the storm made landfall.

  • About 10,000 people are still in shelters.

  • More than 200 roads across the state that are closed or blocked in the coastal city of Wilmington, North Carolina.

  • Over 121,000 customers were without power in North Carolina as of early this morning according to The Weather Network.

  • More than 2.1 million customers across the southeast U.S. were affected by the storm according to utilities.
