State of Emergency Declared in Louisiana - All Telephonic Solicitation Prohibited

Update: Conditions of the storm have allowed the release of the Louisiana Public Service Commission from mandatory its EOC presence, beginning July 15, 2019 at 12:00 PM PT.  Telephone solicitations into the state can resume as normal.

Louisiana has declared an emergency which prohibits unsolicited telemarketing calls into the state effective 6:00 am today.

Current Status: EOC Presence Released - All Telephonic Solicitation May Resume as Normal

In response to the state declaration of emergency in preparation for Potential Tropical Cyclone Two, the Louisiana Public Service Commission has been required to report to the Emergency Operations Center ("GOHSEP"), and a mandatory prohibition on solicitation was ordered. At this time, all telephonic solicitations into the state are prohibited under the general provisions of the LPSC Do Not Call Program General Order, LPSC General Order R-29617. Should the Commission subsequently be released from reporting to the Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, a revised notice will be sent at that time lifting the prohibition.
