UPDATE 10/11/18: President Donald Trump has declared a federal state of emergency in Georgia.
While there is no legal prohibition for solicitation calls to Florida, Alabama or Georgia, these states are in declared states of emergency. We recommend you exercising caution before contacting consumers in affected areas.
Governor Gary Herbert declared a state of emergency in Utah due to potential flooding from Tropical Storm Rosa, effective October 9th, 2018. While telemarketing is not legally restricted during a declared state of emergency in Utah, it is recommended that companies limit solicitation calls to Utah during this time.
Calls to these States on restricted (Do Not Call) dates could result in a potential State violation:
October 8, 2018, Columbus Day
October 8, 2018, Thanksgiving Day
Numerous counties in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Washington D.C. have declared a state of emergency. While there is no law prohibiting marketing to these areas, limiting solicitation calls and texts is recommended during Hurricane Florence.
Louisiana has lifted the restriction on telemarketing (including text marketing) put into place due to Tropical Storm Gordon. The state of emergency was just lifted today, September 5th, 2018.
Telephonic solicitations into the state can resume in compliance with the general provisions of the LPSC Do Not Call Program General Order, LPSC General Order R-29617.
Louisiana has restricted telemarketing (including text marketing) in response to Tropical Storm Gordon. The state of emergency is effective today, September 3, 2018 until October 3, 2018 unless terminated sooner. We will keep you updated when the restriction is lifted.
